Magda Abu-Fadil is director of Media Unlimited.
She brings years of experience as a foreign correspondent and editor with international news organizations such as Agence France-Presse and United Press International. She was Washington correspondent for Arab newspapers Asharq Al-Awsat/Arab News and Al Riyadh/Al Riyadh Daily. She was Washington bureau chief of EVENTS magazine, Washington correspondent for Defense News, The Middle East magazine and 8 Days magazine.
Abu-Fadil was director of publications as well as director of the Institute for Professional Journalists and coordinator of the journalism program at the Lebanese American University (LAU).
She later became director of the Journalism Training Program at the American University of Beirut (AUB), which she founded, before setting up Media Unlimited. She also taught journalism at her alma mater, American University in Washington, D.C.
Abu-Fadil conducts seminars and workshops in English, Arabic and French for professional journalists, as well as strategic communications for professionals, across the Arab World and beyond; collaborates with international organizations on media projects; consults on media education and curricula; consults on media and information literacy; speaks regularly at international conferences; publishes extensively on media issues, journalism education and training; and, blogs.
